Big news, Prosper people! Downtown is getting a fresh upgrade — and no, it’s not another coffee shop. (We still love you, coffee.) It’s a park! Yes, a brand-new shiny (okay, probably grassy) Parvin Park is coming our way, and it’s expected to open by the end of 2025.
So, what’s the deal with this park? Let’s dig in — like squirrels looking for snacks. 🐿️
📍 Where is this park going?
Right in the heart of downtown Prosper — 401 E. Broadway St. It’s not a huge space (2.5 acres, or about 2.5 football fields for your imagination), but it’s going to be packed with good stuff.
What’s going to be there?
- A small playground (perfect for kids or adults who are kids inside)
- Picnic tables (bring your sandwiches and avoid the ants)
- A cute little pond (ducks not included, but we’re hoping they show up)
- Lots of open green space to chill, run, cartwheel, or just lie down and look at the sky
And let’s not forget the three on-street parking spaces. Yes, three. So… carpool?
How much is this going to cost?
About $800,000. That’s a lot of playgrounds and picnic tables. But hey, it’s an investment in good vibes, fresh air, and community fun. A construction contract hasn’t been signed yet, but things are moving forward!
When can we bring the picnic basket?
If all goes according to plan, Parvin Park should open before the end of 2025. That gives you plenty of time to buy a frisbee, train your duck-calling skills, or knit a picnic blanket.
Why should you care?
Because parks are where memories happen. First steps, first dates, family picnics, awkward school field trips — all the classics. And now, downtown Prosper will have a new space for exactly that.
So keep your eyes on Broadway Street. Something green and great is growing there — and soon, it’ll be your new favorite hangout.
Prosper is getting a park. Let’s Parvin-party. 🌿🎉
