Celina ISD Partners with Cook Children’s to Bring Student Health Care On Campus

Because learning is easier when you’re not battling pink eye.

Celina ISD just made a big move for its nearly 6,000 students—partnering with Cook Children’s Medical Center–Prosper to bring health care straight to school. This new collaboration means students can access virtual health visits right from the nurse’s office, making sick days a little less stressful for kids, parents, and teachers alike.

Virtual Health at School: How It Works

Forget the days of waiting hours at urgent care or missing work for a last-minute appointment. With the Cook Children’s Virtual Health program, CISD students can now be seen by medical providers for common illnesses—like earaches, sore throats, rashes, pink eye, and fevers—without ever leaving campus.

Here’s the best part: after the visit, parents will get a detailed summary, school excuse note, and any needed prescriptions sent directly to their family’s preferred pharmacy. By the time you arrive to pick up your child, the hard part is already done.

Health + Education = Stronger Futures

“Cook Children’s has cared for generations of children across North Texas, just as Celina ISD has shaped their minds and futures,” said CISD Superintendent Thomas Maglisceau. “Together, we’re ensuring every student is both well-educated and well-cared for.”

That’s the heart of this partnership: making sure kids don’t just grow smarter in the classroom but healthier in everyday life.

Supporting One of Texas’s Fastest-Growing Districts

With enrollment climbing quickly, CISD is one of the fastest-growing school districts in Texas. By teaming up with Cook Children’s, they’re embedding high-quality pediatric care directly into school life—something Kevin Greene, president of Cook Children’s Medical Center–Prosper, calls a “natural alignment.”

“As two organizations committed to putting children first, this partnership represents a natural alignment,” Greene said. “We’re honored to partner with Celina ISD in our continued promise: everything for the child.”

Why Parents Will Love This

  • Less time off work for doctor visits
  • Quicker care for kids
  • Seamless communication with primary care providers
  • Peace of mind knowing help is available right at school

Because let’s face it: kids don’t exactly plan their sick days around your calendar.

Celina ISD and Cook Children’s are proving that when it comes to raising healthy, happy students, teamwork really is the best medicine.
